Koenigleopold are playing their first-ever concert in Germany with their current debut album “eure armut kotzt mich an” (you poverty makes me wanna throw up) under the auspices of the Netzkultur conference. Austrians Lukas König (drums, synthesizer) and Leo Riegler (electronics, turntables, vocals, clarinet), supported by Karolina Preuschl (rap, visuals), mix a furious blend of beats, jazz and funk, drum rap and street wisdom. Brazen abuse meets hitherto unheard of musical liberation.
Musicaustria writes: “What can you write about a band that does not fit into any category from a musical or contemporary point of view? The excellent, oddball duo Koenigleopold clears the decks and leaves nothing as it was before. (They) break with pretty much every musical convention…In Koenigleopold, madness meets innovative power, sharp wit meets creativity, a lust for experimentation meets musical finesse, music theatre meets actionism, and so on and so forth…”
